We managed to take down hard mode Halion on our second night of attempts and score a US 3rd, World 5th kill. While the fight was similar to the PTR version, it is still a well-tuned idiot check that makes for a few good laughs and a lot more face palming. The only thing harder than watching debuffs or running from the deadly cutter was having our one and only shaman leave mid raid on the first night to catch the midnight premiere of Twilight. None the less, we had fun and eagerly await Cataclysm.
Vodka In Cataclysm: Recruitment Phase 2
It has been a while since our last update, but following the downing of Heroic Lich King, vodka has been busy farming content on live with mains and alts, testing content on PTR, experiencing Alpha for the upcoming expansion, and simply enjoying the free time during the summer. Since we opened up recruitment, we have received tons of applications and we have been able to slowly fill our roster for the upcoming expansion. We are very excited about the future. As we look ahead and prepare, we encourage all outstanding players looking for a guild to consider us.
Phase 2 recruitment is different in that it is a bit more targeted on our current needs. While recruitment is still open to all classes, our current needs are listed below. Even if your class is not listed and if you feel you are an exceptional player, feel free to apply anyway. Keep in mind our expectations are significantly higher. Phase 3 will begin roughly when Cataclysm open beta starts. The goal is to provide prospective applicants a unique opportunity to be a part of our guild on beta before joining us on live. More information will be available about this opportunity on our website when the time approaches.
Balance/Feral Druid - vodka is considering taking on another druid. Regardless of spec you must know how to taken advantage of all that your class has to offer. In addition to solid gear, raid experience and communication skills a viable offspec is a must. You must be a competitive and active player.
As balance the ideal candidate is a smart, raid aware player who knows when to dps and when to shift out and help heal.
As feral the ideal candidate is a player who is comfortable tanking and dpsing at a high level and is ok being in a flex role.
Priest - This is a very challenging and competitive position with high expectations. The ideal candidate is someone who is either healing or dps focused but has the gear, experience and comfort level to handle playing any of the 3 spec’s as needed. In addition to competitive dps or healing you must be able to keep yourself alive and communicate effectively. Expect to be playing all 3 spec’s extensively during your trial period.
Holy Pally - vodka prides itself on having an outstanding healing core. Being a holy paladin is a critical part of our success in raids. If you are a player who we can rely on to anchor our healing, knows all the ins and outs of the class and loves it, and can maintain a high level of attendance consider applying. The ideal candidate not only has solid raid experience, but can effectively heal while moving, manage their mana and cool downs, use the various tools paladins have to offer, and communicate effectively. The expectations of this position are high and having proactive leadership qualities are a plus.
Ret Pally - If you are more than a face rolling, keyboard turning clown, and understand all the potential that a Ret Paladin brings to a group, then fill out an application. The expectations of this position are not only great dps, but the ability to use all the tools a paladin has to offer effectively. The ideal candidate not only has solid gear and raid experience, but a real proactive nature and forward thinking mindset.
If the above interests you, fill out an application here or feel free to contact Grafarion, Killars or Stormbornz in game to ask any questions you might have. Expect a timely response on your application.
